Welcome to the Student Consultancy Programme! Today, you will:
- receive the full induction and training
- attend your Meet and Greet with the student team and project host (some Meet and Greets may take place on an alternative day)
- confirm the date/time of your midway meetup with the project host (we recommend this takes place on day 4 or 5, 8 or 9 June)
- agree on communication methods
- begin to explore your project brief and delegate tasks
- decide on a group leader and email CareerLab@sussex.ac.uk to confirm this

During days 2-5, continue to research the project topic as a group and start listing the questions you want to ask the project host when you meet them again at the midway meetup session. Begin to analyse and collate your thoughts for the final presentation.
- We recommend your midway meetup with the project host takes place on day 4 or 5, 8 or 9 June.
- Ensure that you book in your practice presentation slot by emailing CareerLab@sussex.ac.uk by 7 June. There are slots available 12-15 June, 9-5pm, online or in the Student Centre.

communication team work leadership time management negotiation delegation presentation skills networkingThe Career Lab: Student Consultancy Programme offers our valued partners the opportunity to explore a live challenge faced by your organisation whilst providing meaningful work experience to a small group of students. Students spend a combined 100 hours on a project brief set by you (the client) and provide a business-style presentation to showcase their findings.
There is no financial obligation, the research can be carried out remotely, and the time commitment is very low. Priority will be given to projects that work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Summer programme takes place from 5 - 16 June 2023.

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the partnership. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the work period.
Typically, student teams are expected to present a short 10-minute business-style presentation (virtually) to their client, and provide any supplementary material specific to the project.

Students work in small groups with other finalist undergraduate and taught postgraduate students to research, analyse and recommend strategies for a business in line with a project brief. Potential topics might include:
- Reviewing and recommending sustainability practices
- Testing a product/service/website for usability and navigation
- Analysing market trends and competitors
- Investigating potential new products and services
