Looking to elevate your business, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from McMaster University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students in this course are examining neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to change. Although neuroplasticity is now a widely accepted phenomenon, it wasn't long ago that it was thought the brain could undergo very little, if any, change after childhood. Ample evidence now suggests the brain continues to be modified throughout our lives. What remains an open question, however, is how those changes influence our thoughts and behaviours. Students will examine a variety of themes in neuroplasticity in order to examine how the brain adapts to both external and internal inputs.

Exigances

Students will work in groups over the semester (January-April) to identify a problem within psychology, neuroscience, and health and propose and pitch a novel intervention. Students will apply the principles of neuroplasticity that we discuss in class to this project. Companies may benefit from the novel ideas and perspectives shared by the students, which may provide insight into new interventions or campaigns

For instance, students may propose a novel brain training computer program that may improve stress and mental health.
