Exigances

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the course period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates a structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Program outline

Undergraduate students who have generally fully completed their third and sometimes fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce (SPAD) program may choose to complete an elective industry project. Students have the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to the challenges of business as they gain valuable, relevant and applied project experience as a student consultant to your organization. Students can work in a variety of topic areas:

  • Finance
  • Analytics
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Sponsorship
  • Partnerships and Sales
  • Communications
  • Event & Operations
  • Social Media
  • Market Research

Benefits to the employer

  • Employers help the university produce highly productive and potential future leaders by complementing and enhancing a student’s academic study through meaningful applied project experience.
  • Students are available for specific long-term projects that drive value for the organization external to SPAD.
  • Students have completed a minimum of three years of academic study, thereby obtaining a solid base of theory and technical skills.
