Students will be tasked with delivering a comprehensive business plan tailored to your business. A business plan can be utilized by startups, Small & Medium Enterprises to raise capital and/or apply for provincial and federal grants. A business plan is beneficial to both for-profit and not-for-profit ventures and organizations.

Students will work as consultants, and the more time you dedicate to them, the better the information the students will have to produce a comprehensive business plan that can meet the unique needs of your business. We recommend working with the students to book a meeting at least once a week for collaboration, ask thoughtful questions, and provide guidance.

Please find below the business plan outline:

1) Executive Summary (max 250 words)

2) Company Description

3) Industry Target Customer and Competitive Analysis

4) Product/Service plan

5) Marketing Plan (this can include Social Media Strategy, Campaign Strategy and Communication Strategy)

6) Operation and Development Plan

7) Management Team

8) Critical Risk

9) Offering

10) Exit Strategy

11) Financial Plan

Warning: Please be aware that the deliverable is strictly a business plan, as explained above.

The course schedule is as follows:

  1. Initial screening phase: October 25 - December 13. The TalentED YYC team will review project submissions.
  2. Final approval phase: December 13. The TalentED YYC team will accept all final projects.
