Hamline University invites you to collaborate with students in our interdisciplinary Global Health II course. This course covers global health equity and the dynamics of healthcare systems, the flow of health resources, and strategies to address global disparities. This speaking-intensive course prepares learners to engage in global health equity discussions and apply practical knowledge to real-world challenges.

Exemples de projets

Ideal projects align with the course’s focus on global health equity and systemic change. Examples include:

  1. Research: gather, synthesize and report on published studies about a topic (such as maternal and/or infant mortality in a specific country).
  2. Training Program Design: plan and propose ways to educate and train community health workers in accompaniment (https://www.pih.org/article/accompaniment-could-be-the-key-to-reforming) and other tasks.
  3. Culturally Adapted Health Interventions: design culturally appropriate health campaigns or initiatives tailored to a specific community.
  4. Social Media Posts: create content and visuals for health campaigns or initiatives and manage postings on social media platforms; create public service announcements (PSAs).
  5. Sustainability in Health Resources: evaluate the implementation of value-based healthcare in a low- or middle-income country and propose sustainable strategies.
  6. Health Equity Advocacy: develop a policy brief advocating for equitable health trade practices to a relevant organization.
  7. Healthcare System Analysis: examine the impact of local healthcare policies on vulnerable populations and propose equity-focused improvements.
  8. Workforce Migration Study: investigate the effects of "brain drain" in healthcare and recommend strategies for workforce retention in low-income regions.
