AscentUP - Summer Internship Projects

Flexible

30-hour, fully-subsidized internships for US employers to connect with youth in community.   Learners are paid a $300 USD stipend on completion of the project by Riipen. Employers are not required to provide payment.  Submit a project here for the AscentUP team to review.  Once approved, you will be matched with a team of 5 participants. Projects can start from mid-June, and must be completed between 3 and 6 weeks. AscentUP - Cybersecurity & IT Support - Summer 2025

Flexible

150-hour (30 hrs per learner), fully subsidized, hands-on technical support and security projects for US employers. Get extra capacity this summer with a dedicated team of early-career technologists. As part of our Summer 2025 program , learners bring foundational knowledge in IT systems, cybersecurity tools, and responsible AI practices —making them a great fit for structured projects that address help desk needs, internal documentation, network setup, or AI-related policy development. Employers are not required to pay learners—participants receive a $300 stipend upon completion of the project.  Skills Learners Bring IT Support Windows & Linux OS Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack DNS, Wi-Fi configuration, TCP/IP Hardware & peripheral setup Mobile device support Ticketing systems & documentation tools Command line interface & basic scripting Cybersecurity Network security fundamentals Log analysis (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, Tcpdump) Vulnerability assessments Security incident response Basic SQL (BigQuery), Python Security frameworks & documentation Employers can sign up for the program   here . AscentUP - Private Program - 2025

Flexible

150-hour (30 hrs per learner), fully subsidized, project support for employers Each project is supported by a team of up to 5 learners, contributing a combined 150 hours (approximately 30 hours per learner) over 6–8 weeks. Projects are remote, part-time, and scoped to provide real-world experience for learners while delivering meaningful outcomes for employers. Project types vary and may include work in marketing, research, operations, design, data analysis, and more. There is no cost to employers. Learners receive a $300 stipend upon successful completion of the project, funded by AscentUP.

The first round of the internship program was a great experience. While we had a few scheduling challenges early on that delayed initial momentum, the team quickly found their rhythm and really stepped up. Each intern brought their own strengths, creativity, and willingness to learn, and by the end, we were truly impressed by the quality of work delivered. From writing and research to design support and campaign planning, their contributions made a meaningful impact on one of our most important internal projects. We appreciated their flexibility, positive attitude, and ability to collaborate under a deadline. Looking forward to building on this success in the next round.
